Description
If you’re building for the site, you’re likely to manage your code in git. Updating your EDD download normally includes downloading a zip until your code is ready to deploy, renaming the main folder, deleting unneeded files, and then re-zipping and uploading. This process can take time, especially if several sites or lots of downloads are managed.
This process for your code that lives on GitHub and BitBucket is automated by the Git Download Updater extension. You pick the repo and version tag instead of manually updating your download for update, and the plugin does the remainder. This changes the download file and sets the correct names for the file.
If you use Software Licenses, the version number and changelog can also be automatically modified for this extension (requires that you use readme.txt parsing).
With every update, this extension can save you time.
Characteristics:
Directly fetch zip files from git tags
Promotes both public and private repositories
Readme.txt parses to extract and correct the change log by using EDD App Licensing
Simply change the version number and press fetch to update to a new version or roll back to a previous version.
